Sr. Optical Amplifier Development Engineer
Job Descriptions:
Sr. Optical Amplifier Development Engineer is expected to be:
- Responsible for Optical design of EDFA and other amplifiers for telecom applications, simulation of steady-state and transient design.
- Responsible for technical support to marketing team on Amplifier product RFP/RFQ and specification negotiation
- Responsible for interacting with hardware, software members in design team to initiate the design, development, execution, and implementation of Amplifier module and sub system
- Responsible for specifying, selecting, and qualifying key optical components in amplifier product, developing and benchmarking amplifier performance models, developing and implementing test procedures, and evaluating and selecting appropriate test instrumentation
- Responsible for mentoring junior staff and leading offshore design team for the execution of product development, system integration, qualification and new-product-introduction process
- The person may be required for project management, responsible for managing various aspects of project, not limit to budget and scheduling, product configuration management, milestone status reporting

- Expertise in amplifier system design and modeling, numerical simulation and optimization
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Experience on component vendor interaction, piece part specification, and performance characterization
- Experience and knowledge on design for manufacturability/reliability (DFx), yield/cost analysis, and strong knowledge on amplifier manufacturing
- Experience on EDFA testing engineering, process development, quality tools (FMEA, DOE, etc) and Telcordia qualification
- Experience and knowledge of project management and risk management

- Excellent written and oral communications skills, proficient in both English and Mandarin

He or she supports sales account manger to form account strategy and share responsibility of account relationship. He or she provides the emerging customer needs for product development roadmap.

Job Descriptions:
This is R&D position in OMS team. Act as a leading role in designing, developing and testing optical products, particularly for LC or free space optical device. Create and maintain technical documents, such as product specifications, design documents, engineering BOMs, and work instructions.
