LIU | Mr. Liu, one of our founders, has served as our Chief Executive Officer and President since October 2002, and has served as a member of our Board of Directors since our inception in 1995. Previously, Mr. Liu served as our Chief Executive Officer from September 1999 to November 2001, and served as our Chairman of the Board of Directors from inception in 1995 through May 2000 and again from November 2001 to August 2002. From 1994 to 1995, Mr. Liu was the General Partner of Techlink Technology Ventures. Prior to 1994, Mr. Liu spent ten years as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Techlink Semiconductor and Equipment Corp., a semiconductor equipment and technology company. Mr. Liu also serves as a director of several privately held companies involved in semiconductor integrated circuit design and manufacturing. Mr. Liu received his B. S. from Chinese Cultural University, Taiwan and his M. S. from California State University, Chico.
>>back to top | | SHIRLEY YIN | Ms. Yin was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in August 2007. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has more than 10 years of experience in finance and accounting in a wide variety of roles. She has been with Oplink since 2000 and became our Corporate Controller in 2003, where she was responsible for all aspects of reporting and managing financial operations. Before joining Oplink, Ms. Yin spent several years at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Business Assurance Senior Associate. Ms. Yin received a Bachelor of Economics in Business Management from Zhongshan University in China and her M.S. in Accountancy from the University of Southern California. >>back to top | | THOMAS P. KEEGAN | Mr. Keegan has served as our President since May 2008. Prior to that, he served as our General Counsel and Vice-President of Business Development. Before joining Oplink, Mr. Keegan had eighteen years of experience as a private practice attorney in California and Taipei, Taiwan. His practice areas included business and technology transactions, commercial litigation, and intellectual property enforcement, with a focus on trans-national work involving parties in or from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Keegan held management positions in the inland marine transportation industry. Mr. Keegan received his B.A. from St. Louis University and his J.D. from Golden Gate University School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in the State of California in 1988 and is a member of the California State Bar Association. >>back to top | | JAMES CHENG | Mr. Cheng has served as our General Manager of China/Macau since May 2005. Mr. Cheng has more than 28 years of experience in manufacturing and factory management. Early in his career, Mr. Cheng served as an engineer and manager at Taiwan Far-Eastern Textile Mechanical Co. in Taiwan. After emigrating to the United States in 1990, Mr. Cheng worked for six years as an engineer at Wan Sen Electronic Co., and for five years as the Country Manager and Factory GM at RAE Systems Inc. in Shanghai (Jiading) China. Most recently, Mr. Cheng has worked as a consultant for Stratum Technologies, Inc. in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Cheng received his B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from Taiwan Taugtong University, Taiwan. >>back to top | | RIVER GONG | Ms. Gong has served as our Vice President of Sales since February 2003. Ms. Gong has been with the company since January 1998, previously acting as Sales Manager, Sales Director and Sr. Director of Sales. Before joining Oplink, Ms. Gong spent three years as Division Manager and Sales Manager of MP Fiber Optics (now Global Opticom). Prior to that, she spent five years in China as an architect. Ms. Gong received her B. S. in Architecture from Harbin Institute University and completed graduate studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Iowa. >>back to top | | YANFENG YANG | Dr. Yang has served as our Vice President of Operations since May 2005. From January 1999 to May 2005, Dr. Yang found success in various positions including, General Manager of China Operations, CEO Staff, Vice President of Global Manufacturing/Operations, Senior Director of R&D and an Optical Engineer. Prior to joining Oplink, Dr. Yang spent six years as Director of the Research Institute of Optoelectronics at China Daheng Corporation, a high tech photonic company under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), from March 1993 to January 1999. In addition to authoring several publications, he owns four patents and was twice named Outstanding Researcher by CAS. He is a member of the Optical Society of China as well as the International Society of Optical Engineering. Dr. Yang received his B. S., M. S. and Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology, China. >>back to top | | CHARLES INGEBRETSEN | Mr. Ingebretsen is responsible for implementing Oplink Communications Inc. worldwide quality and reliability management systems. Charles joined Oplink in October 2000 after 18 years of progressive operations management experience at Adept Technology Inc, a manufacturer of automation equipment and controls. Charles held various operations and quality management positions and served as director of quality and reliability engineering. Mr. Ingebretsen has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University as well as several industry certifications including that of a lead auditor, trainer and Quality Engineer. >>back to top |
