OPLINK ENHANCES QUALITY SYSTEM WITH TL 9000 AND ISO 14001:2004 CERTIFICATIONS

Fremont, Calif., -- May 16, 2005 -- Oplink Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPLK), a leading photonic foundry and provider of optical networking components, modules and sub-systems, today announced that its manufacturing center in China has achieved TL 9000 and ISO 14001:2004 certifications. Approval for these certifications came from the world accredited TÜV SÜD Group after audits at Oplink's Zhuhai, China location.

TL 9000 is a telecom industry-specific Quality Management System established by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. It is designed with emphasis on enhancing customer relations, continuing improvement, standardizing metrics and cost reduction.

ISO 14001:2004 is the latest edition of Environmental Management System from the International Organization for Standardization. This certification encourages policies for better environmental practices and employee health and safety.
