Oplink has established initiatives that are intended to promote product compliance with new legislation regarding environmental directives being instituted globally. Environmental directives adopted by the European Union, such as the EU Directive 2002/95/EC, restrict the use of certain hazardous substances (RoHS) to specific levels. Effective July 1, 2006, the RoHS directive prohibits the use of the following substances in products placed into the market place:

Oplink has made commercially reasonable efforts to ensure that our products, as listed in specific Certificates of Conformance published by Oplink, are in compliance with the EU Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and The Council of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
